Boldfish is a collaborative video production company. No one knows your business as you do. We work with you to craft a message that is specific, genuine, inclusive, and helps to preserve the agency of the people whose stories are being told.
I believe each one of us has an innate desire to make a difference. For me, it is to raise awareness and inspire change.
I discovered the power of media and storytelling in my late 20s. While studying Media and Broadcast Communications full-time during the day at BCIT, I was hired for full-time evenings at a local TV station. It sounds like a lot, but at the time it didn't feel like too much. I was in my element.
In 2005 I founded Boldfish. Since then, my team and I have had the privilege of telling stories from over 40 countries. We've been held up at gunpoint in Mozambique, filmed out of a Russian helicopter in Mongolia, and dined under the stars with the Touregs in the Sahara Desert. But it isn't the excitement or the scenery that drives us around the world. It's heartbreak. We've worked to expose the travesties of the sex trade in Cambodia, female genocide in India and the refugee crisis in the Middle East.
Even in heartbreak we find stories of joy, growth, change and celebration. This is also true when we tell the Canadian stories in health care, manufacturing, finance and more. Everyone has a story worth sharing, and at Boldfish we don't simply 'make videos'. We tell stories.
